Sharkey & Company Limited are fully aware that operating as a construction company can have a detrimental impact on the environment. We are therefore committed to minimising the harmful effects of our services and operations, by complying with the ever-increasing environmental demands.
Our principle environmental policies are:
To meet the requirements of all relevant environmental legislations, codes of practice and client requirements
To minimise unnecessary pollution that may be caused by our work
To discuss all environmental issues with employees, to ensure they have a good understanding in order to implement the policies
To minimise the generation of waste and to dispose of any unavoidable waste appropriately
To contribute to sustainable development, by using natural resources more efficiently
To make suppliers and contractors more aware of environmental issues and practice these in their work
To research new technologies, that will carry out the job just as effectively, whilst reducing emissions and noise and minimising waste
To continually improve our environmental issues, by regularly reviewing and updating our objectives
To respect the general environment and to respond to the concerns of local residents
